One of the first bloggers I started following online, was a gentleman who goes by the name Obi Wan Liberali. He leans to the left (Really! you say, didn't think we'd get that from his name eh?), and when I started reading his blog, I didn't, but over time, he's helped me clarify my views, and understand more about the world of politics and life in General.
I have no idea who he is in real life, but should I ever be fortunate enough to meet him, I think it would be a lot like meeting an old friend.
I bring Mr. Liberali up, because on Monday he wrote an excellent essay on frugality. It came across to me as one of the few voices of reason amid a sea of economic and political BS surrounding the recession, global warming and all the other issues people like to talk about.
If you have a spare couple of minutes, I would highly recommend this essay, and should you feel so inclined, I would recommend the rest of his blog as well.
