In the wrong hands with All-State

Well, here goes the first post on the Koda Think Tank... I started this after getting pretty peeved about some political/religious events last week, and after posting them on my normal blog, realized that I should really shield my regular vistors, (all 2 of them) from my opinions and general whining about things.

Obi Wan Kolobi has a post this week on Standard Optical... If you are visually challenged, it might be of interest too you - Click here to read it

Anyway, I've been fighting with All-State lately and so I thought I might do my part as a member of a free market society, by sharing my experience.

I've been with All-State for about 4 years. I moved to them from State Farm. State Farm kept jacking up my premiums, despite a perfect driving record and perfect credit. Anyway, so I moved to all state to save about 20 dollars a month. Then they start their ad campaign about good driver rebates and fraud detection. I asked about the good driver rebate and was told I had to enroll in their premium package - Pay more to get a rebate - I don't think so. 2 years ago, I then caught an auto glass company who was submitt fraudulent glass claims against my policy. All-state could not have been less interested, and on top of that, I got a call from the Glass place yelling at me... So much for being concerned about fraud!

OK, so then we moved house and my mortgage guy asked if he could shop the home owners policy. I got a quote from All-State and then he took that and my auto policy and found that by switching companies, he could save me almost $300 a year.

Next thing I know All-State have set up a policy on my new house, without my asking them too, and the first I hear about it, is the cancellation notice for non-payment, a bill for almost $100 of unpaid premium and a threat to send it to collections. I've had similar problems with the auto policies too. I then called Customer Service to make sure everything was canceled, and was told they couldn't cancel a policy, unless I had proof of insurance from somewhere else.

What business of All-State is it if I am insured or not?

Anyway, I would highly recommend avoiding All-State all all costs, State-Farm too far that matter. I have a terrible fear that my credit may have been dinged by these bastards as well.
