HOLY CRAP!!

I've seen this video posted on two other blogs, and the documentary it promotes looks very interesting. There are some powerful statements made, particularly one at the end about how we will look back in history and see the great damage we've caused.

But, as I watched it again this morning on another site, my jaw hit the ground. And interestingly enough, it has nothing to do with Prop 8 or gay marriage.

Here's the video...

OK, now I'm not sure if anything stood out to you, but go back and look at the two persons who shake hands at 0:34. I found it interesting how it shows the two people staring directly into each others eyes, and then pans down to the handshake itself at 0:36.

And that was when it hit me like a ton of bricks...

Are you seeing it yet?

Look at the index finger of George Bush, and then look at the index finger of Thomas Monson. For those who don't know, Monson is currently the head of the LDS Church.

Now for some interesting tid bits...

I'm interested in Free Masonry, the Knights Templar and all of that. As such I watch a lot of History and Discovery channel shows about both. Recently in one, which I may blog about, since it was interesting. The statement was emphatically made that George W. Bush was not a mason.

Up until the last decade or two in Utah, it was not possible for a person to be both a Mason and a member in good standing of the LDS Church.

Interesting handshake, and interesting that they would use such an image in a documentary such as this.

  1. OMG.

I think the first time I saw this I thought to myself "there's something odd about that shot" but I didn't think to look--it went by too quickly.

    OMG.

  2. I know right!?!

First couple of times, I was trying to figure out what made the meeting between the two significant and how it related to the whole prop 8 thing...

Actually I still don't know the answer to either of those questions, but they seem somewhat trivial now.

  3. Yeah, I don't think I purposely place my forefinger there when I shake peoples' hands. Definitely strange, if even af first glance.

Have we established that that type of handshake is indeed a Masonic symbol? Could there be some other reason they're doing that?

  4. I can't say for sure if it is a Masonic symbol, and evidence would seem to
suggest that neither of them are involved in Masonry - at least not directly.

If it was just one of them doing it, then it would be one thing, but it
appears - at least from the parts of the hands visible - that they're both
    doing it.

And with the finger going inside the cuff...

It raises questions, but as yet, I have no answers, and I suspect any
answers would likely amount only to speculation.
