I found this video on another blog a few weeks back. My first encounter with Dr. Tyson was on the Colbert show some time ago, and this was the second.
I showed it too my son last night. He's 9, but a fairly smart kid. When it got to the part about brain failures, I thought the poor kid was going to choke himself, he was laughing so hard.
I'm not sure what context this video is in, but I'd kind of like to view the rest of it. Context doesn't really matter too much though.
Enjoy!
I love this video!! Plus the anecdote one, both great.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, when I posted this one on facebook a couple weeks ago, I got thumbs up from some TBMs. ;)
I think everyone, including TBM's can see these kinds of problems with stuff not related to organization they have an invested interest in.
ReplyDeleteI know a bunch of Mormons who are big into questioning and the scientific method and all of that, but as soon as you cross the line to religious type topics, all objectivity goes out the window.
Oh - and if the off still stands to borrow the book, both the wife and I are very interested. Perhaps we should hook up for lunch sometime when you get back from Taiwan!
Just shoot me an email at koda at urbankoda.com or else, you can look up my facebook profile at facebook.com/kodafit
Totally! I'll shoot you an email in January. Have a great holiday!

Actually, my husband and I just watched the whole thing the other day. It is quite good. Neil deGrasse Tyson is a great communicator of reason and science!
