Ideas

I posted a summary of my weekend, along with some ideas I had, over here.

The readers digest version is...

Anyone in Northern Davis county, Utah know of any ex-mormon support groups, or would be interested in attending if I started one? It wouldn't be to bash the Church, but more to share thoughts and feelings, and possibly investigate other stuff, like humanism, science or other ideas. Something supportive and uplifting - Hey, I was thinking of calling it Sunday Mormon Tea, but how about The BRA meeting... Supportive and Uplifting?! Man I need more sleep!!

There is a relay running race being planned in Moab next May. Would anyone like to consider joining a 6 or 12 person team of ex, post or NOM Mormons? Depending on the size of the team, you would either run 3 legs totaling about 15 miles, or 6 totaling about 32 miles. If you're a runner and have never done a relay before, you're missing out on one of the greatest experiences you can have! And we can go incognito if you would like - maybe even pick an especially ironic team name!

And finally if you know an IT Manager or Technical Recruiter in Australasia (especially New Zealand actually)... I'm interested in forming a relationship with one!

  1. There are days I'd kill for a group like this near where I live, but there's none. Not even in our state capitol.

    I mean, craaap.

And I'm just too lazy to start one. Honestly, I may even be too lazy/unable to attend one.

But still, would be nice to know one was around.

  2. Actually, somehow I ended up on PostMormon.org this morning, and it looks like there may actually be a couple of options in our area...

With all the crap that comes from an area saturated with Mormons, I guess this is the one good side to it... Lots of former Mormons too!

  3. You'll have to let us know what options are available in our area. I'm only aware of the RFM meetings in SLC.

Sounds like you have some great stuff going on!

  4. The relay sounds interesting but, sadly, I'm a former runner as I destroyed both of my knees in separate accidents.
