A month or two ago, I was invited to post on Main Street Plaza.
For those who don't know what Main Street Plaza is, it's a community of people, most of whom have left Mormonism. The thing that surprised me about the community was the level of civility. It handles topics of a varied nature, but the discussion always seems to be very objective and seldom denigrates in the mud slinging which seems to be the stereo-type of ex-mormon websites.
Not only do I think it does a huge service for the Ex-Mormon community, and as a vehicle to help those still active in Mormonism understand the reasons some of us leave, but for me it has been a tremendous source of healing and community.
Anyway, I wrote up my first post yesterday, and it was published this morning. Not to blow my own horn, but I think you might like it...
Giving things up
And while you're there, be sure to check out some of the other posts out there. My weekly favorite is the Sunday in Outer Blogness posts, which are always good for a laugh and education.
