I would have thought there would be more about this in the media, but perhaps it's because on the weekends I fall into a media blackout of sorts...
A couple of years back, a very Mormon Attorney General in Utah started to go after the FLDS Church and it's leadership. I believe that there was criminal activity involved, but the thing is that much of the criminal stuff had it's roots in traditional Mormonism.
Anyway, so the leader got caught and was convicted of being an accomplice to rape, because he sanctioned, encouraged and performed a marriage between a scum of the earth type man, and a 14 year old, unwilling young lady, who was subsequently raped by her 'husband'.
Turns out that his conviction was overturned this week.
